Woah, spent a good few hours over a few days on this one. I tried out 3d Studio Max, and its way better than cinema 4d. I really like the result, hope you do aswell.

Time taken: About 3 hours
Programs used: Photoshop, 3d Studio Max

Full view is a must!

I might turn this into a WP aswell...

pretty good, blitz. only thing i dont like is the tendrils coming outta the center...they dont look like they match the burst/explosion thingy...good overall, the 2d looks good too.

I think the render is too big and the brushing is too blotched. All that and the quality of the image bring it down a lot. However the render is nice and this image does have a bit of composition.
